Rhonda Clark

Rhonda Clark (born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Flint, Michigan) is a female R&B singer, songwriter, producer, and composer.
In 1989, Rhonda released her debut album, "Between Friends" on Tabu Records which peaked at #69 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.

The first single from the album, "State of Attraction" peaked at #6 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 16 weeks, making it her highest chart appearance to date.

The follow-up single, "Stay Here, Stay Near" peaked at #50 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 9 weeks.

In 1992, Rhonda released her self-titled sophomore album. It's unknown how or if the album ever charted.

Rhonda's first single from the album, "(If Loving You is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right" peaked at #26 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 13 weeks.

The follow-up single from the album, "Must Be Real Love" peaked at #28 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 10 weeks.

After that, it seemed that Rhonda had faded into obscurity, but in 2004, she released her third album, "You Touch Me."

In 2009, Rhonda released her new single, "Papers" which is now available on Amazon.com. She is still active in the music business.

Bert Robinson

Bert Robinson (born in Detroit, Michigan) was an R&B singer from the mid-80's. It seemed as if he was going to be a success in the R&B department, but unfortunately, his success was short-lived.

In 1987, Bert released his debut album, "No More Cold Nights" which peaked at #35 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.

Bert's most successful single to date was "Heart of Gold" which peaked at #5 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 15 weeks.

 

The follow-up single, "Won't You Be My Lady" didn't reach the same success as Bert's previous single. Bert was also on Peggi Blu's album, "Blu Blowin" on the song, "All The Way To Love."

In 1989, Bert released his sophomore album, "I Promise You Love" which failed to chart at all on the Billboard charts and the only single released, "Occupy My Love" also flopped. After that, it seemed that Bert has faded into obscurity.

Eric Gable

Eric Gable (born in New Orleans, Louisiana) was an R&B singer from the late 80s\early 90s. Not much information is given on this singer.

In 1989, Eric released his debut album, "Caught in the Act" which peaked at #25 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.

The first single from the album, "Remember the First Time" topped Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart for a week in September of 1989, staying on the chart for 17 weeks.

The second single, "Love Has Got to Wait" peaked at #13 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 15 weeks.

Eric was featured on Tamika Patton's single, "Your Precious Love" which was a Top 20 R&B hit. The third and last single from the album, "Hard Up" peaked at #33 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 14 weeks.

Eric was featured on the "Def By Temptation" movie soundtrack with the track, "In a Sexy Mood" which peaked at #43 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks. Eric was featured on Keisha Jackson's 1991 album, "Keisha" on the track "Love Don't Walk Away."

In 1991, Eric released his sophomore album, "Can't Wait to Get You Home" peaked at #44 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.

The title song peaked at #12 on Billboard's Hot R&B Songs chart, staying on the chart for 17 weeks. The follow-up single, "Straight From My Heart" peaked at #24 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 12 weeks.

In 1994, Eric released his last album to date, "Process of Elimination" which peaked at #55 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.

The title song peaked at #23 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 20 weeks & #63 on the U.K. Singles chart.

The follow-up single from the album, "Driving Me Crazy" didn't appear to make the charts at all. After that, it seems as if Eric Gable has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from him since.

Cat Miller

Cat Miller (born in North Carolina) is a former R&B singer from the mid-'80s. She began her vocal training in a church choir before joining music group Chanson in 1979 and later sang with music group Carnival.

Cat also toured with War and The Brothers Johnson as a solo singer. After she finished touring, she put together her own show and went on a solo tour of her own. She worked as a session singer for Stacy Lattisaw and Hiroshima.

After attempting to audition as a replacement for Shalamar's Jody Watley, Cat got a solo record deal with Solar Records.
In 1985, she released her first single, "Ready or Not" on ARS Records in Belgium. It's unknown how or if the single charted.

In 1986, Cat released her first and only album "Cat." It's unknown how or if the album ever charted. The two singles released "Be For Real" and "Beat My Face" which failed to chart at all.

These days, Cat (now Mary Catherine) is an evangelist and has an outreach ministry called Pure Praise Inc.

Janice Bulluck

Janice Bulluck (born in Memphis, Tennessee) was an R&B singer from the late 80s. Not much information is given about this singer.

In 1986, Janice was featured on R&B singer/producer, William Bell's single, "(I Don't Want To Wake Up) Feelin' Guilty" which peaked at #59 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 7 weeks.

In 1987, Janice released her debut album, "Don't Start a Fire" on the Wilbe Recording Corporation label. It's unknown how or if it charted.

The first single, "Do You Really Love Me" peaked at #61 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 10 weeks.

Her follow-up singles, the title song and "Right Love, Wrong Man" didn't chart. After that, it seemed that Janice has faded into obscurity.

Tony LeMans

Tony LeMans (born in Santa Monica, California) was an R&B\funk singer/songwriter who was associated with Prince and signed to his record label, Paisley Park Records.
In 1987, Tony released his self-titled debut album which peaked at #58 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.

His only chart appearance, a cover version of Sly & the Family Stone's song "Higher Than High" peaked at #37 on Billboard's Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 9 weeks.

The follow-up single from the album "Cookie Crumbles" failed to make any impact on the Billboard charts.

Sadly on June 24, 1992, Tony died in a traffic accident in Malibu, California. Before his death, he was about to begin work on his sophomore album. He wrote songs on Donny Osmond's comeback album and the Rolling Stones "Voodoo Longue" album.

Tony's manager called him "one of those acts that come around once in a lifetime."

Mazarati

Mazarati is an R&B group from the mid-80s that was formed by former Prince and the Revolution bassist Brown Mark.

The original lineup consisted of singer Sir Casey Terry, bassist Jerome "Romeo" Cox, lead guitarist Craig "Screamer" Powell, drummer Kevin Patricks, rhythm guitarist Tony Christian, and keyboardists Marr Starr & Aaron Paul Keith. The group was signed to Prince's Paisley Park Records label.

The group was originally given the song "Kiss" which was later recorded by Prince that become one of his biggest well-known hit songs. Mazarati was credited on the song and also sang background vocals. They were also given the song "Jerk Out" which was given to The Time that became another big hit.
In 1986, Mazarati released their self-titled debut album which peaked at #133 on the Billboard 200 and #52 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.

Their first single, "Players' Ball" peaked at #79 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 6 weeks.

The follow-up single, "100 MPH" became their biggest hit to date, peaking at #12 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart and #19 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 14 weeks.

Another single, "Stroke" was released, but it's unknown how or if it ever made the Billboard charts.
In 1989, the group released their sophomore album, "Mazarati 2" on Motown Records in Canada. It's unknown how or if the album ever charted.

The two singles from the album "The Saga of a Man" and "The Woman Thang" were released, but didn't chart. After that, it seemed as if Mazarati faded into obscurity.

As of the summer of 2011, original members Chris Powel & Marvin Gunn formed a new group based upon Mazarati's back catalogue under the name "Mazarati Revisited."

Lina Santiago

Lina Santiago (born on September 5, 1978 in Los Angeles, California) was a female freestyle\dance singer from the mid 90's. Not much information is given on this talented singer.

In 1996, Lina released her debut album, "Feels So Good" on Universal Records, which peaked at #29 on Billboard's Heatseekers albums chart.

The title song became Lina's only hit to date, peaking at #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April of 1996, #6 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart in April of 1996, #63 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart in March of 1996, #4 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart, #33 on Billboard's Top 40 Mainstream chart, and #7 on Billboard's Rhythmic Top 40 chart.

Lina's follow-up single, "Just Because I Love You" peaked at #78 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September of 1996 and #27 on Billboard's Rhythmic Top 40 chart.

A promo single, "Dale Que Dale" was released, but didn't chart even though a music video was made for it. After that, it seems as if Lina has faded into obscurity.

Y?N-Vee

Y?N-Vee (pronounced "why envy") were an R&B group from the 90's that consisted of Natasha "Sonshine" Walker, Tescia "Vayne" Harris, Nicole "Nic Nam" Chaney and Yenan "Yesz" Ragsdale.

In 1994, the group released their debut album which peaked at #75 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.

Their first single, "Chocolate" peaked at #39 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 13 weeks.

The follow-up singles "I'm Going Down" and "4 Play" failed to chart at all. In 1995, Y?N-Vee was featured on the single, "Freedom" featuring artists such as TLC, Blackgirl, Aaliyah, and En Vogue which became a big hit on the Billboard charts.

After that, it seemed as if the group has faded into obscurity. Natasha appeared on two of 2Pac's songs "Lord Knows" and "Check Out Time."

As of May 2012, Nicole (now Nicole Chaney-Dillon) has been married to her former background dancer for 17 years. She hosts her own inspirational talk radio show.

Yenan Ragsdale sings from time to time and promotes a health product. It is unknown what Tescia Harris is up to today.

Assorted Phlavors

Assorted Phlavors was an R&B group consisting of members Tiffany Phinazee, Antonia Bryant (born and raised in Yonkers, New York), LaKisha Johnson and Julia Garrison. The group formed in the early '90s while they were still in high school.

Julia performed in church and high school. She met Antonia who has been singing and performing since she was 12 years old. LaKisha graduated from the Westchester Conservatory of Music.

With the addition of Tiffany and LaKisha, the group was formed. The group won a talent show under the name "Essence". After signing with record label Hall of Fame Records, their name was changed to Assorted Phlavors.
In 1997, the group released their self-titled debut album which didn't chart on the Billboard 200 at all. It's also unknown if it made Billboard's R&B Albums chart. 

The first single "Make Up Your Mind" (featuring rapper Big Daddy Kane) peaked at #58 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks.

The follow-up single "Patience" failed to make the charts at all. After that, it seemed that the group has faded into obscurity. Nothing has been heard from the group since.

Earth Gyrlz

Earth Gyrlz was an R&B group from Brooklyn, New York that consisted of members Heather Gunter, Robin Saville, Angela Brown and Tanesha Gary.

In 1995, the group released the single "Love of Mine" which peaked at #54 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 12 weeks.

They were supposed to release their debut album "Fully Equipped," but it was never released, although promotional copies appear to exist.

After that, it seemed that Earth Gyrlz has faded into obscurity.
