In 1983, Elisa won "Star Search" when she was just 15 years old. In 1987, she signed a record deal with Chrysalis Records. She was featured on the "Summer School" movie soundtrack with the song, "Jackie."
Elisa's appearance on the soundtrack attracted the attention of musician\producer John "Jellybean" Benitez, who asked her to be the lead singer on two songs on his 1987 album, "Just Visiting This Planet."

The song from Jellybean's album, "Who Found Who" peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart.
During that same year, Elisa released her self-titled debut album which peaked at #163 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Her first single, "How Can I Forget You" peaked at #60 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February of 1988 and #47 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart in January of 1988.
The second single from the album, "Forgive Me For Dreaming" peaked at #49 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June of 1988.The third single, "You Don't Know" peaked at #50 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart in October of 1988. The last two singles from the album "Do Something Foolish" and "Little Too Good For Me" failed to make the charts at all.
In 1990, Elisa released her second album, "I Am" which was recorded at Prince's Paisley Park recording studio. The album was also produced and written by Prince. It's unknown how or if the album charted at all.The single, "On the Way Up" became Elisa's most successful solo single to date, peaking at #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January of 1991 and #31 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart in November of 1990.

The follow-up single, "Oooh This I Need" peaked at #90 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March of 1991, making it her last appearance on the Hot 100 to date.
After that, Elisa's solo career took a backseat while she did backup vocals for many artists such as Billie Meyers, Savage Garden and Prince. In 2001, she released her fourth album, "Undecided."
In 2002, Elisa released her fourth album, "Teach Me Tonight" in Japan. It's unknown how successful the album was.
In 2007, Elisa released a jazz album, "Labour of Love" and an independent country album, "Light That Shines" under the name "E.J. Dease" in 2008. (which are available to buy on her website or on CD Baby).
In 2010, Elisa and former pop singer, Dino Esposito released the album, "Songs from The Fiorillo & Esposito Catalog" which is available on CDBaby.
These days, Elisa is married to Michael Dease and has a daughter named Olivia. She is currently a backing vocalist for Prince's band and continues to release new music.

A year later in 1980, Stacy released her second album, "Let Me Be Your Angel" which was produced by Narada Michael Walden. The album peaked at #44 on the Billboard 200 and #9 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.


In 1981, she released her third album, "With You" which peaked at #46 on the Billboard 200 and #8 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.






In 1983, she released her fifth album, "Sixteen" which peaked at #160 on the Billboard 200 chart and #26 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart.
The follow-up single, "Million Dollar Babe" peaked at #52 on Billboard's Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 12 weeks.







The first single, "Nail it to the Wall" peaked at #48 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November of 1986, #2 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart and #4 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart in November of 1986, staying on the chart for 18 weeks. In the U.K., the song peaked at #76 on the U.K. Singles chart.
