Angela Garcia


Angela Garcia was a freestyle/dance singer from the '90s. Not much information is given about her, but she released two singles before fading into obscurity.

In 1992, she released her first single "Tell Me Why" on Explosive Records. It's unknown how or if the single made the charts at all.
A year later, she released her second single "Sounds of Heartbreak" on Viper Records. Like her first single, it's unknown how or if it made the charts at all.

After that, it seemed as if Angela faded into obscurity, but it appears as if she is still performing these days.

Dekko

Dekko was a male freestyle/dance singer from the 90s. Not much information is given about this singer, but he was signed to Jack Pot Records.

In 1993, he released his only album "I Will Always Love You" which was released on the Hot Productions record label.
During that same year, he released a cover version of Whitney Houston's then-hit song "I Will Always Love You." It's unknown how or if the single ever made the charts.
The follow-up single "I Want You" was released, but it failed to make any impact on the music charts at all.

Two more singles from the album "Words" and "Without You" were released, but like the previous two singles, they didn't appear to make the Billboard or any other music charts at all.

After that, it seems as if Dekko has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from him since.

Diva

Diva was a female freestyle/dance trio from the 80s. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to PKO Records.

In 1987, they released their only single "I Wanna Break Night With You" which didn't appear to make the charts.

After that, Diva faded into obscurity. It's unknown what they are up to today.

Leather & Lace

Leather & Lace were a female freestyle/dance trio from the 80s that consisted of Arlene Ramirez, Lottie "Lottie Dah" Lachica and Miriam Mercado. The trio was formed by Lottie, who helped develop the first Latina girl group to introduce freestyle music.
In 1985, they released their first single "Tender Heart (Do What's Right for Me)" which didn't appear to make the Billboard charts.
A year later, Leather & Lace released two more singles: "Let Your Body Go" and "Rock Me Shake Me" which also didn't chart. After that, the group faded into obscurity.

These days, Lottie continues to be active in the music business and resides in New York. She has been a radio host, worked in artists management and obtained a certificate in Digital Media Arts as a sound engineer. She is also the C.E.O. of her own production company Beauty & Brains Productionz and plans on operating her own recording studio & record label.

Arlene and Miriam released a few solo singles in the late '80s/early '90s, but it is unknown what they are up to today.

Allison Angel

Allison Angel was a female freestyle singer from the 90s. Not much information is given about her, but she was signed to Musicworks Records.

In 1993, she released the single "Turn Me Off." It's unknown how or if the single made the charts. After that, Allison faded into obscurity. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ileana

Ileana (born Ileana Holland) is a female dance\freestyle\pop singer from the late 80s. She grew up in a musical family; her parents were a Latin music group called Los Deltos while Ileana and her sisters performed as singers & dancers (under the name The Sound City Girls) on a Puerto-Rican television show, "The Nydia Caro Show."

Ileana later moved on to join a group called Triple Exposure with her husband, Glen. She also performed in the Disneyland house band, Krash.
In 1989, Ileana released her self-titled debut album on Telarc Records, which didn't appear to make the Billboard charts.
The only single released from the album, "Ay, Ay, Ay (Si Papi)" was released, but didn't appear to make the charts. After that, it seemed as if Ileana had faded into obscurity.

According to the Isle of Deserted Pop Stars blog, Illeana has continued to perform as the lead singer for corporate & wedding band, Soulville. She has also done commercials and television work along with being the lead arranging vocalist for the "American Idol" live shows.

Madi

Madi was a female freestyle singer from the '80s. Not much information is given about her, but she was signed to the Tropic Sound Productions record label.

In 1987, she released the single "Can You Feel My Love For You." It's unknown how or if the single ever made the charts.

After that, it seems as if Madi has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from her since.

Nuance Featuring Vikki Love

Nuance was a dance\freestyle\R&B band formed by producer\arranger, Ron Dean Miller and featured vocalist Vikki Love. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to 4th & Broadway Records.
Their first single, "Take a Chance" peaked at #23 on Billboard's Black Singles chart in 1984, staying on the chart for 23 weeks.
In 1985, they released their debut album, "Sing, Sing, Dance, Rap, Romance." It's unknown how or if the album charted.
The second single from the album, "Loveride" topped Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart for a week in January of 1985 and #34 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 14 weeks. It also peaked at #59 on the U.K. Singles chart. 
The last single, "Stop Playing on Me" peaked at #14 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart in November of 1985 and #36 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 12 weeks.
The title song was released as a single, but didn't chart. After that, it seems as if Nuance & Vikki Love have faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since.

Exo

Exo (born Samuel A. Cardona) was a male freestyle singer from the late 80's. Not much information is given about him, but he was signed to Micmac Records.

In 1989, Exo released the single, "Why Did You Do It" which didn't appear to make the charts at all. After that, it seems as if he has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from him since.

Sheri Watson

Sheri Watson (born in Allentown, Pennsylvania) is a former freestyle\dance singer from the '80s.

As a child, she studied piano & violin and spent three summers with the Harkness Ballet School in New York City on a scholarship.

When Sheri was 16 years old, she accepted a scholarship with the Stuttgart Ballet School in Germany and later attended the Joffrey Ballet School. When she was 18 years old, she was awarded with a competitive contract to dance professionally with the American Ballet Theatre. She was also a member of the National Ballet of Canada in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

After she choreographed a ballet for a workshop performance for the National Ballet of Canada, Sheri returned to New York City where she choreographed a music video which led her to the recording studios where she began writing & recording music.

In 1987, Sheri released the single, "Let's Be Lovers" on Best Records. It's unknown how or if the single ever charted.  She later worked as an assistant engineer and was a personal assistant for composer\arranger Harold Wheeler for four years.

Sheri worked as a set decorator for films & TV. She had a few opportunities to write music with collaborators, but it wasn't until she discovered Kundalini Yoga and the teachings of Yogi Bhajan that she started writing & recording music again.
She recorded the "Ra Ma Da Sa" healing mantra and later released an EP called "Shuniya."

These days, Sheri continues to be active in the music business and has founded her own music publishing company called Naad Music which is dedicated to promoting healing through conscious sound vibrations.

Face

Face were a female freestyle\dance duo from the 90's. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to Micmac Records.
In 1991, Face released their debut single, "Forever Yours" which didn't make the Billboard charts. The song was written, produced, & arranged by Charlie "Rock" Jimenez.
Their second single, "Happy Days" failed to make the charts at all either. After that, it seems as if Face has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since the 90's.

P.S.O.

P.S.O. were a freestyle\dance trio from the 80's. Not much information is given about them, but they were signed to Sunnyview Records & RTR Records during the 80's.
In 1986, they released their debut single, "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin" on Sunnyview Records which didn't appear to make the charts at all.
In 1989, P.S.O. released their second single, "Monogamy" on RTR Records, which also didn't make much impact on the charts along with their follow-up singles from the label: "Wanna Get Next to You" and "Nxt 2U."

After that, it seems as if P.S.O. has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since.

Korell

Korell (born Phil Korell Melegrito on May 13, 1968) was a freestyle\dance singer from the 90's. He began singing when he was 5 years old and earned his big break in 1988 after creating a music group called Reaction.

While performing, Korell was discovered by freestyle musician, Stevie B. who was impressed with his talented and began collaborating with him on various musical projects. Korell was signed to LMR Records, but his debut album was released on Thump Records.
In 1994, Korell released his only album, "Make it Last Forever" which didn't appear to make the charts at all. Despite not charting, the album received rave reviews and became a favorite of fans.
 
The first single, "Paradise" didn't appear to make any impact on the charts, neither did the follow-up single, "Let Me Be the One."

After that, Korell took a break from his musical career. He has produced and written music for various artists. Korell has performed at various freestyle showcases across the country along with having a strong fan base in North and South America.
In 2010, Korell released his newest single, "Each Time" which is available for purchase on CD Baby. He was working on a follow-up album, but sadly on January 30, 2015, he passed away. He is survived by his wife, daughters & stepdaughters.
