Rappin' Duke

Rappin' Duke was music producer Shawn Brown, who did a rap parody of the late actor, John Wayne.

In 1985, Rappin' Duke released his only album "¿Qué Pasa?" on JWP Records. It's unknown how or if the album ever made the charts.
His first single "Rappin' Duke" peaked at #73 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 8 weeks.
In 1986, Shawn Brown released his last single under the name "Rappin' Duke" entitled "Duke is Back" which peaked at #47 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 7 weeks.
During that same year, Shawn released a single under his real name entitled "Kato-B" on J&G Records which went nowhere on the charts.

In the 90s, Shawn produced music for artists such as Dag Nasty, Capone-N-Noreaga, and Th' Downer Boys. These days, it seems as if Shawn Brown has faded into obscurity.
