Ebo (born David Ebo in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) was a male R&B singer from the 80s that was the lead singer for Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes from 1976 to 1984.

In 1986, Ebo released his only solo album, "I'd Rather Be By Myself" on Domino Records. The title song managed to peak at #37 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 18 weeks.
The follow-up singles "Always and Forever" and "Count the Days" didn't make the R&B charts at all.

Sadly in 1993, Ebo passed away from bone cancer at the age of 43. He was survived by his wife, daughter, and three brothers.
