Crush

Crush was a pop British duo that originally consisted of singer\actresses Donna Air (born on August 2, 1979 in Newcastle-upon-Tyme, England) and Jayni Hoy.
Donna and Jayni (along with singer\actress Vicky Taylor) starred on the British soap opera "Byker Groove!" and they released a single "Love Your Sexy!" in 1994. After that, Donna and Jayni renamed themselves "Crush."
In 1996, Crush released their first album "Teenage Kicks" on Telestar Records. The album was shelved in the U.K., but released in Japan.

They released their single. "Jellyhead" which peaked at #50 on the U.K. Singles chart. After the success of the song, U.S. record label Robbins Entertainment wanted to sign Crush to their label.

When the single was released in the U.S., it managed to peak at #72 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #43 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales chart.

By that time, Jayni had left Crush and was replaced by Luciana Caporaso (born on June 23, 1977 in London, England). Luciana had already released a solo album "One More River" in 1994.

For Crush's new album, new songs were re-recorded with Luciana while some of the songs from their "Teenage Kicks" album were remixed.
In 1997, Crush's U.S. debut album was released. It's unknown how or if the album ever made the charts.
The follow-up single "Luv'd Up" peaked at #45 on the U.K. Singles chart, but failed to make the charts in the U.S.
Two more singles "Love's Hold" and a cover version of the Go-Go's "We Got the Beat" were released, but didn't chart. After that, Crush broke up, going their separate ways.

Donna focused on modeling and acting. In 2003, she gave birth to a daughter named Freya Air Aspinall with her ex-fiance, Damian Aspinall. She appeared on ITV's "Marco's Kitchen Burnout" and "Heston Blumenthal’s Gastronomic Adventure" testing out her cooking skills.

These days, Donna continues to be active in the entertainment business while Luciana continues to have an active solo career. It is unknown what Jayni is up to today.
