Rockers Revenge

Rockers Revenge were a dance music act from the '80s that was put together by music producer Arthur Baker and the members consisted of Donnie Calvin, Dwight Hawkes and Tina B (who is also mentioned on the blog & Arthur's wife).
In 1982, they released their first single "Sunshine Partytime" which didn't make the Billboard charts at all.

During that same year, Rockers Revenge released a cover version of reggae singer Eddy Grant's 1979 song "Walkin' on Sunshine" which topped Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart for a week in September of that same year. The song also peaked at #4 on the U.K. Singles chart and #63 on Billboard's Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 8 weeks.
The third single "The Harder They Come" peaked at #30 on the U.K. Singles chart and #13 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.
The fourth single "There Goes My Heart" peaked at #69 on Billboard's Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 6 weeks.

Rockers Revenge's last single "Living For the Weekend" (which featured vocals from singer Adrienne Johnson) didn't appear to make the Billboard charts at all. They were also featured on the "Beat Street" movie soundtrack with the song "Battle Cry."

In 1988, Rockers Revenge's song, "Love is On Our Side" appeared on a house music compliation album called "Rough House, Vol 1." Tina B went on to have a moderately successful solo career.

Dwight Hawkes and Donnie Calvin wrote & provided vocals on various dance music singles, but they have since faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from them since.
