Az-1 were an R&B\rap group from the 90s that consisted of members Shawn Harris, Jeff Gill, Martin Kember, and LA Drake. They were one of the first new jack swing groups trying to make a name for themselves in the music biz.
In 1992, they released their self-titled debut album on Scotti Bros. Records which didn't appear to chart at all on the Billboard charts.
The first single from the album, "Trust in Me" peaked at #37 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 14 weeks.
The second single, "With You" peaked at #71 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for only 9 weeks.
A promo single, "Let My Love Inside" was released in 1993, but didn't chart. After Scotti Bros. Records changed hands, Az-1 got lost within the shuffle.

After that, Jeff Gill worked on Magic Johnson's record label and worked with R&B singer, Avant. Martin Kember went on to work as a producer for the late 2Pac and started his own solo music career, releasing an album in 1999.

LA Drake works in the Atlanta, Georgia music scene. As for Shawn Harris, he has left the music biz and now works as a mortgage broker in New York City.
