Chéri

Chéri was a female Canadian female dance duo from Montreal whose members consisted of Rosalind Hunt (daughter of singer Geraldine Hunt and sister of singer Freddie Jones) and Lyn Culllerier.
In 1982, the duo released their first single, "Murphy's Law" which became their biggest hit to date, peaking at #39 on the Billboard Hot 100, topped Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart for 3 weeks in May of 1982, and peaked at #5 on Billboard's Hot Soul Singles chart for 17 weeks.
During that same year, Chéri released their debut album, "Murphy's Law" which didn't chart at all on the Billboard albums chart. After the success of their hit single, Rosalind left the duo and was replaced by New Jersey singer Amy Roslyn.
The follow-up single, "Give it To Me Baby" peaked at #53 on Billboard's Black Singles chart in October of 1982, staying on the chart for 10 weeks, but the third single, "Come and Get These Memories" failed to chart.
In 1983, Cheri released their sophomore album, "Love Stew" on 21 Records. It's unknown how or if the album ever made the charts.
The first single from the album, "Working Girl" peaked at #40 on Billboard's Black Singles chart in March of 1983, staying on the chart for 13 weeks.
The follow-up single from the album, "Small Town Lover" peaked at #56 on Billboard's Black Singles chart in July of 1983, staying on the chart for only 9 weeks. After that, it seems as if Cheri has faded into obscurity.
