Sandee (In Loving Memory)

Sandee (born Sandra Casanas on January 19, 1962 from South Florida) was a female freestyle\dance singer.

Before starting her solo career, she was one of the original members of girl group, Exposé. Sandee recorded the original versions of "Point of No Return" and "Exposed to Love."

After they were released, the original members of the group split up. By the time Exposé was prepared to record their third single, they were replaced with a completely different line-up.
In 1987, Sandee released her first single "You're The One" which peaked at #11 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart.
In 1988, she released her second single "Notice Me" which peaked at #9 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart in February of 1989, #17 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart and #62 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart in February of 1989, staying on the chart for 7 weeks.
In 1991, Sandee released her debut album "Only Time Will Tell" on Fever Records, which didn't appear to make the charts at all.
Sandee scored a minor pop hit with "Love Desire" which peaked at #49 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July of 1991, #5 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart, #21 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart in June of 1991 and #83 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart in June of 1991, staying on the chart for 5 weeks.

After that, Sandee continued to perform and work on music, but tragically on December 15, 2008, she was found deceased in her home in Hollywood, Florida from a seizure at the age of 46. She will be missed very, very much.

This blog entry is in loving memory of Sandra "Sandee" Casanas.

Gioia Bruno was the one original member of Expose who stayed on until she injured her vocal chords. I have the orignal version of Point Of No Return with Sandy on lead vocals from 1985.

In 1986, Sandee recorded a R&B song entitled "Let's Stay In Love." Although the song was unknown she was able to display a soulful sound as well. It was recorded by Gold Star Records and distributed by 4-Sight Records both out of Ft Lauderdale.

As a friend, and old roommate, she recorded a remake of Doctors Orders, on her album that was absolutely amazing! May she rest in peace!
