Sweet Sensation

Sweet Sensation were a female freestyle\dance trio from the Bronx, New York whose members consisted of sisters Margie & Mari Fernandez and lead singer Betty LeBron. The trio formed in 1986 and was originally signed to Next Plateau Records before moving to Atco Records.
In 1986, they released their first single "Hooked On You" which peaked at #64 on the Billboard Hot 100 a year later, but when it was remixed in 1989, the song peaked at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 1987, they released their second single "(Goodbye Baby) Victim of Love" which charted at #44 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play Chart.
In 1988, Sweet Sensation released their debut album "Take It While It's Hot" which peaked at #63 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The original album cover had Betty, Margie, & Mari on it, but in the 1989 re-pressing of their album, new member Sheila Vega replaced Mari on the front cover, but the vocals on the album weren't re-recorded after the personnel change.
The trio's third single "Take It While It's Hot" went up to #57 on the Billboard Hot 100, but charted successfully on #7 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart and #14 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart.
The fourth single from the album "Never Let You Go" peaked at #58 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart and Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart in September of that same year.
The last single released from the album "Sincerely Yours" peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100, #30 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart, and #6 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart. In 1989, Mari Fernandez was replaced by Sheila Vega.
In 1990, Sweet Sensation released their sophomore album "Love Child" which peaked at #78 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The first single, a cover version of the Supremes' song "Love Child" peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100, #15 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart and #6 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart.
The second single from the album "If Wishes Came True" became Sweet Sensation's biggest hit, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and replacing Mariah Carey's song "Vision of Love" for a week. The song also peaked at #8 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart.
The third single "Each and Every Time" peaked at #59 on the Billboard Hot 100. The last single released from the album "One Good Man" was released in 1991, but it didn't get a commercial release, however, the single peaked at #72 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart.
During that same year, Sweet Sensation released a remix album called "Time To Jam." It's unknown how or if the album charted at all.Margie and Sheila left the group and were replaced with new members: Belle, Maya and Jenae. They were together briefly in a few live shows, but the group split up in 1992 and faded into obscurity.
In 2005, Betty Lebron (under the name "Betty Dee") was featured on the dance single "My Body Tu Cuerpo" which was credited as "Dynamix Presents Sweet Sensation." In 2007, Betty, Sheila and Jenae briefly reformed, but it's unknown what the other members are currently up to.
